The effectiveness of an organization in terms of achieving its objectives depends on many variables. The most significant is the quality of performance of the people within it. An organization may have the most sophisticated technology, but it will be useless if it does not have competent people to use it for productive purposes. A well-trained, highly skilled and knowledgeable employee is more valuable than a hundred who are not. This course therefore seeks to guide students to understand why the people who constitute the workforce of the organization are crucial to the organisation’s success. Students will gain a better appreciation of the need for management to continuously provide the opportunity for its employees to develop and enhance their skills and competencies for effective current and future job performance.
